Service Description

PolicyDoctor Legacy is a secure digital vault that helps users store life insurance documents, maintain beneficiary access details, and reduce friction during future claim workflows.

The service is designed to improve organization, increase readiness, and improve the likelihood of successful claims by making important policy information easier to preserve and access.

PolicyDoctor Legacy is a workflow and documentation platform, not a claims processor, insurance carrier, or legal representative.

PolicyDoctor may offer free review calls, setup assistance, or onboarding support to help users understand whether their life insurance information is organized and whether PolicyDoctor Legacy may be useful for them.

No Financial, Legal, or Insurance Advice

PolicyDoctor LLC does not provide financial, legal, tax, insurance, or investment advice.

Any informational prompts, reminders, educational notes, or guidance in the platform are general educational assistance based on publicly available information and are not personalized professional recommendations.

You are solely responsible for consulting qualified professionals regarding your legal, financial, tax, or insurance decisions.

No Guarantee of Outcomes; User Responsibility

PolicyDoctor Legacy is built to reduce friction and improve preparedness, but it does not and cannot guarantee any insurance payout, claim approval, claim timing, or other outcome.

PolicyDoctor may describe the service as helping make policy information easier for your family to find and use, but PolicyDoctor does not guarantee that an insurance carrier will approve, process, or pay any claim.

You remain fully responsible for:

Maintaining complete and accurate policy and beneficiary information
Keeping uploaded documents current and legible
Following insurer-specific claim requirements
Responding to carrier requests and deadlines

PolicyDoctor does not act on your behalf with carriers and does not submit claims for you.

Notification System and Communication Limitations

PolicyDoctor may provide account, vault, beneficiary, and system notifications via email, SMS, or in-app messaging.

Delivery of communications depends on third-party networks and providers and may be delayed, filtered, interrupted, or not delivered.

You are responsible for maintaining accurate contact information and monitoring your account. Message and data rates may apply for SMS communications.

If you request a review, submit a lead form, or provide your contact information, PolicyDoctor may contact you by phone, text, or email about your requested review, setup, account, vault, or related service communications.

Review Requests and Contact Consent

If you request a free review, submit a lead form, or provide your contact information, you authorize PolicyDoctor to contact you by phone, text, or email about your request, PolicyDoctor Legacy, setup assistance, account activation, and related service communications.

You are not required to purchase anything as a condition of requesting a free review.

Policy Vault and Data Responsibility

You retain ownership of your uploaded content and account data. By using the service, you authorize PolicyDoctor to store, process, and transmit your information as needed to provide platform functionality.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to upload and manage all submitted documents and beneficiary information.

PolicyDoctor applies commercially reasonable safeguards and reliability measures, including recurring backups, but no system is immune from every technical or security risk.

Agent, Partner, and Referral Disclaimer

Any insurance agents, brokers, affiliates, referral partners, or advisors who reference PolicyDoctor are independent parties and are not employees or legal agents of PolicyDoctor unless expressly stated in writing.

PolicyDoctor is not responsible for independent third-party statements, conduct, services, or recommendations.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PolicyDoctor LLC and its officers, owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service.

This includes, without limitation, damages related to claim delays, claim denials, lost benefits, lost data, service interruptions, or third-party system failures.

In all cases, PolicyDoctor’s total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to the service is capped at the amount you paid to PolicyDoctor in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Subscription, Billing, and Payments

PolicyDoctor Legacy may be offered as an annual subscription, a setup-and-subscription package, or another clearly disclosed paid offer.

Current Claim-Ready Activation pricing is $189 for setup and vault activation, with the first year included. After the first year, continued vault access renews at $59 per year unless canceled before renewal.

Pricing may vary only if clearly disclosed at checkout or in a written offer.

Payments are processed through Stripe or another third-party payment processor. PolicyDoctor does not directly store full payment card details.

Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or where PolicyDoctor separately offers a written refund guarantee and the stated conditions of that guarantee are met.

If PolicyDoctor offers a Claim-Ready Setup Guarantee, that guarantee applies only as described in these Terms and in the written offer shown to you before purchase. The guarantee does not promise that an insurance carrier will approve, process, or pay a claim.

Claim-Ready Guarantee

PolicyDoctor may offer a Claim-Ready Setup Guarantee as part of a paid setup-and-subscription package.

For the current Claim-Ready Activation offer, PolicyDoctor will organize the user's policy details, carrier claim path, document requirements, beneficiary access, and personalized claim-starting plan within 72 hours, or refund the $189 setup fee.

The 72-hour setup window begins only after both of the following have occurred:

The user has paid for Claim-Ready Activation; and
PolicyDoctor has received the policy, beneficiary, beneficiary contact, carrier, document, account, and access information reasonably needed to complete the setup.

Required information may include, but is not limited to, the policyholder's name, insurance carrier name, policy number, available policy documents, beneficiary name, beneficiary phone number, beneficiary email address if available, and any other information PolicyDoctor reasonably requests to complete the Claim-Ready Setup.

If the user does not provide the required information, provides incomplete or inaccurate information, provides outdated information, provides illegible or inaccessible documents, or delays providing requested information, the 72-hour setup window does not begin or is paused until the required information is received.

The Claim-Ready Guarantee applies only to PolicyDoctor's covered setup obligations. It does not guarantee any insurance payout, carrier approval, claim acceptance, claim processing speed, claim payment timing, policy validity, beneficiary eligibility, death benefit amount, tax treatment, legal outcome, estate outcome, or any outcome controlled by an insurance carrier, employer, government agency, court, estate, beneficiary, user, third party, or other outside party.

The guarantee does not apply to delays, failures, or incomplete setup caused by missing, incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, unavailable, illegible, inaccessible, or delayed information from the user, beneficiary, insurance carrier, employer, government agency, court, estate, third party, or other outside party.

The guarantee also does not apply if the user refuses, ignores, delays, or fails to respond to reasonable PolicyDoctor requests for information needed to complete the setup.

If PolicyDoctor determines that it failed to complete the covered Claim-Ready Setup within the applicable 72-hour setup window, PolicyDoctor will refund the $189 setup fee. The first year of Legacy Vault access remains included as described in the offer, and continued access renews at $59 per year unless canceled before renewal.

The Claim-Ready Guarantee is the user's exclusive refund remedy for the current Claim-Ready Activation offer, except where otherwise required by law.

Termination and Account Control

You may stop using the service and request account closure at any time.

You may cancel renewal before the next billing date. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund past payments unless required by law or separately promised in writing.

PolicyDoctor may suspend or terminate access to the platform at its discretion, including when necessary to protect platform integrity, enforce these Terms, investigate misuse, or comply with legal obligations.

General Legal Provisions

These Terms constitute the full agreement between you and PolicyDoctor regarding your use of the service.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

PolicyDoctor may update these Terms from time to time, and updated Terms become effective upon posting unless otherwise stated.

Privacy

Your use of the service is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains how information is collected, used, and protected.
